Morning Archana

Morning Archana

This morning, during Devi Bhava, at around 5:30am as darshan neared the end, Amma suddenly asked all the Tour Staff to come to the hall and join in chanting the 1000 names of the Divine Mother. Swami Amritaswarupananda first started with Amma’s 108 names. As each name was called out, everyone responded with ‘Aum Amriteshwariyai Namah. Next came the 1000 names – everyone responding with ‘Aum Parashaktyai Namah’. Swami finished by singing Ayi Giri Nandini. It was the first time to everyone’s knowledge that a full archana had been done on tour in the US.

In Amritapuri, Archana is done each morning beginning at 4:50am. As with Mata Rani, we all hope that this will become a standard during the rest of the US Tour.

Yes, the 108 names of Amma, Sri Lalitha Sahasranama and Ayi Giri Nandini was chanted during the Los Angeles Devi Bhava. It was such a powerful addition to Devi Bhava!
Jai Ma!
