It was the first Devi Bhava of 2007. Amma’s visit coincided with a potentially dangerous eruption of Reunion’s active volcano. There were serious concerns about acid rain caused by the sulphur emitted from the volcano’s fiery core. And while it did rain, there was no acid rain during Amma’s visit. Thus it seemed to some of the devotees that the Goddess had come in person to shower her blessings in the shadow of Nature’s fury. Instead of acid rain, Reunion Island received a shower of grace.
